Vegan Pear, Dark Chocolate & Almond Crumble

Vegan Pear, Dark Chocolate & Almond Crumble

Serves 4 – 5

Ready in 50 minutes

I adore pear and chocolate together and paired with sweet nuttiness of ground almonds, they make a divine crumble! It feels ever so indulgent but my recipe is actually vegan and refined-sugar free. I have also used oat flour as an alternative to plain, because I love oats in my crumble toppings too! This one’s a real winner for Sunday supper. Let me know if you enjoy it!

6 pears
2 tsp light agave syrup
80g oat flour (blended oats)
40g ground almonds
40g softened vegan butter (I use vitalite)
30g coconut sugar
50g dark chocolate (70%+ cocoa solids)
1 tsp cinnamon

  1. Preheat the oven to 190C/170C fan.
  2. Peel, core and chop the pears into 2cm chunks. Add to an oven proof dish with the agave syrup and bake for 5-10 mins so they become a little more tender.
  3. In the meantime, blend the oats to form a fine powder and then combine with the ground almonds, cinnamon and vegan butter. Rub the ingredients together until the mix starts to look like breadcrumbs, then add in the coconut sugar and chocolate chunks and combine.
  4. Sprinkle the crumble mix evenly over the pears and then cook in the oven for approx 30-35 mins until the top is golden. Serve warm with ice cream.
